Featuring Wu Fei (guzheng, vocals) with Dijf Sanders ('Java', 'Pura', 'Supra'; electronics), Simon Segers (De Beren Gieren, STADT, Black Flower; drums) and Louise van den Heuvel (Dishwasher, Supernova, Small Medium; bass).

GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter and clawhammer banjo player Abigail Washburn and Chinese musical prodigy, Wu Fei master of the guzheng (the ancient 21-string zither), will perform music from their self-titled album on Saturday, March 2. Known for blending music from their homes in Appalachia and China, the effervescent resonances of Fei’s guzheng zither dance around Washburn’s expressive banjo playing, intertwining to create a new musical language. Wu Fei and Abigail Washburn’s performance highlights shared humanity through the transformative power of song and a cross-cultural blend of music.

Fei is the co-composer and performer (guzheng & vocal) for one episode in Season 4 that will air in 2024.

Fei is one of the 12 artists around the country to be featured. Each episode will have one artist and one topic. Fei’s episode will be filmed on April 23 on Cash Lane in Nashville, a special place that once was the home of Country Music Hall of Fame members June Carter, Carl Smith, Marty Stuart, Cindy Cash and more. The series will air on PBS next fall.
